2year old waking A LOT - WHY why WHY?!!!!!

Dd is really 'good' at going to bed and happily goes back to sleep - sometimes she needs us, sometimes not but I would like to know how do you stop them waking up in the first place?!!!! I know I should be glad that it only takes less than a minute to deal with, if at all, (and although she would prefer to 'sleep wit yo mummy', she sleeps fine on her own...) she woke every 2 hours last night!!

Any ideas why????? She seems so random - lots of or hardly any food intake/early or late or long or short naptime/bath or not/lots of activity or not, seem to have no effect on whether she will wake lots (like last night) or not (just one or even - gasp - none)...

Ok. I thought as much.

Am guessing that there are no replies to this because there are no answers and we will just have to deal with it til she grows out of it or I hit on a magic solution.

(and in the meantime, pregnant me will just take the easy option and enjoy cuddling up next to my lovely firstborn!!)

Umlellala - I'm pg (early on) and have a waking up toddler. I'm just taking the path of least resistance atm and trying to 'enjoy cuddling up next to my lovely firstborn' too

Is she too hot or too cold? maybe she is uncomfortable, try changing her pillows, or moving her bed to a differnt spot in the room, maybe she was thirsty?

Sounds like she was uncorfortable in some way to wake up so often, my ds(nearly 2) wakes up at least once during the night for a sip of water, not sure if he does it out of habbit or if he is really thirtsy but it can be annoying to have broken sleep as i always wake up with him too.

Oh it was very hot... she was at Nanna's last night so will open the windows before bedtime and see how she fares tonight. Worth a try, thanks!

She has water by the bed which she can get (although sometimes she still wakes and asks for it, lazy thing - the whole point of putting her in a bed was so I didn't have to get out of bed but she just calls for me )
