Nap help

I desperately need some help getting my 13 month old back into a good sleep routine!

Just after her first birthday she dropped one of her two naps. I didn't think she was ready but I can't force her to sleep.

Then a couple of weeks later she started waking up around an hour after being put to bed. It's almost like she thinks bedtime is her second nap.

So I tried putting her back to two naps which was a struggle in itself because she just doesn't want to nap before lunchtime. So her second nap was getting later and bedtime was getting later as a result, but it was a bit more manageable.

When she's gone back to nursery this week, they said they are struggling to get her to take two naps so she's only had one. I do think they probably want her on one nap, it's only a small nursery and she's the youngest there so it's easier if she naps at the same time as all the other children. I get it.

But at home, we are now back to her waking up an hour after bedtime and I can't get her back to sleep until 12-1am.

Do we just power through and she will get used to it? Or do I need to try and insist she goes back to 2 naps? Even though she won't nap before 12 so the second nap ends up being too late for a decent bedtime.

What time is the Nursery nap?

Normally about 12.30-2.30

Ok so that sounds about right for her age. Not sure why she's not sleeping at night though.

Two things to possibly consider is the temperature, if you're in the UK is she warm enough at night and is she getting enough calories during the day?

Sounds like she overtired with just one nap and as you suspect, isn't quite ready - to get two naps into my little one I had to cap the first so she could comfortably fit another one in the afternoon that wasn't too late.
Initially I capped it to 30 mins but right before she dropped the first nap properly it was just a 10 minute cat nap. If she won't go down at all, you could try bringing bedtime forward so that she isn't so tired? I sometimes put my little one down at 5:30 if she'd skipped a nap as she struggled with overtiredness!
