I beleive we’re in leap 5 or some sort of sleep regression and prior to Christmas we had successfully moved my DS into his own room. For the last 10 days or so he’ll wake around midnight and will not settle until he comes into my bed. This is fine for now as at the end of the day we all need sleep! but I wanted to know, has anyone else had this happen and the most important question - did they magically go back to sleeping ok in their own room? I don’t want to have to do sleep training again (we did the gradual retreat) which btw works fine at 7pm just anything after midnight is a no go

At 5 months old it is quite common for a baby to wake up in the night and have trouble resettling. Can you feed him, then put him down and pat him till he goes to sleep? Or put a rocking chair in his room, and rock with him till he's asleep? My DS developed a habit of waking a lot in the night. At 15 mths we went to stay with my MIL, and she got up to him during the night, while we were there. That broke the habit. My DD as a toddler used to get up and come to our bed. I'd roll out and go to her bed, and she'd snuggle in beside DH. I didn't mind that at all, and she grew out of it in time. It is hard to change sleep patterns, as you know you'll be facing a few worse nights before it gets better. Good luck.
