4 month olds sleep ????

I said I’d never post on here about sleep as I’m now a seasoned parent of 2 (ha!) and thought I knew it all BUT

my 1st was a nightmare sleeper and I definitely didn’t help and we ended up with some really bad habits. This time i was adamant my baby wouldn’t be as reliant on me for sleep so she now is able to settle herself at bedtime, sometimes I hold her hand but she’s asleep in minutes.

the issue is she sleeps for a good 4/5 hours and just as I’m thinking of coming to bed every night she’s awake, she’s not hungry as will often refuse the boob and is just awake flapping. She wakes up hourly after this and is either smiling at me or just reaching out and grabbing me. We have had 2 weeks of this and it’s driving me mad

I really thought I was going to avoid this as she can self settle!! I know it’s probably the 4 month sleep regression but what does that even mean? My first was so bad she was never able to regress Grin Any tips?

Honestly just go with it. Sleep changes all the time. 3 months old was the best your baby will sleep for ages. Now theyre 4 months old so try and go to bed earlier so you get a few hours. If I could go back I would stress less about sleep.i have a 14 mo now.

Move the cot to a different side of the room so she can't see you?

Move her to a different room? I know it's against current guidelines but i have 2 friend's who ended up moving their baby to another room at 4-5 months and they ended up sleeping much better.
