10 month sleep NEVER sleeps past 4am

My baby is about to be 10 months and never sleeps past 4am. 4am he is awake and bouncing between the walls. No matter if we put him down 6, 7, 8pm. Before being fully awake at 4, he awakens every hour from 12am onwards and cries before being assured and going back down for an hour.
he prev. went down at 7pm and slept to 5am. After recovering from a cold, he now goes down at 6pm and sleeps to 4am. He’s wide awake and won’t go back down at this time - ever.
he still takes 3 naps. Each 30mins - 1hr long. (Total about 2 hours per day typically). Wake periods of 2.5-3.5 hours.
please help, we’re so sleep deprived!!

If he previously slept 7-5, you need to get back to that. Or maybe even 8-6. So, a consistent, later, bedtime. That also gives you a chance to go to bed pretty soon after baby, to allow a decent chunk if sleep before the hourly wakes start. I found if I got a straight 4-hour block of sleep, I felt much more human.
Later bedtime might involve a shift in meal times - when do you give milk /breakfast after the 4am wake?

Does he feed when he wakes?

personally I would wake him at 11 and give him a bottle

6 is too early move to 7pm

Try transitioning to a 2 nap day.

6pm is far too early for bed. It needs to be 7 or 8. Hopefully within a few days he will adjust to a later wake up then.

Does the boiler start at that time? Or something happen outside at that time. Look for regular things that could be creating this pattern. Then change them if you can.

If his naps are totalling 2 hours per day and his evening sleep is 6-4 so 10 hours total, then he is getting enough sleep overall as a 10 month old should be getting at least 12 hours per day. The problem is with your timings, if you want him to wake at 6am then he needs to be going to bed at 8pm. Consistency is key, give him 2x 1 hour naps at the same time every day and increase his bed time and he will be back to a more sociable schedule soon enough.

Also should add that you want to aim to have him asleep by 8, not just be getting him ready at 8, so if your evening routine takes 45 minutes then start the process of bedtime at 7.15 so that he's in bed and asleep by 8 :)

My DD only ever sleeps 10h so I have pushed her bedtime later. At 10 months I would try to drop the 3rd nap as well.

The naps are the issue, it's too much day time sleep. I have a 12 month old and he was on 1 nap a day at 10 months - which I know is early to move to 1 nap, but I would try 2 naps a day for 1 hour each, absolute max. Try 10-11am, and 2.30-3.30 or something along those lines. Bed at 7.30pm. also note that it may take a good week or so on a new routine for his wake times to change, as you need to give his body clock some time to adjust. Good luck!

Plenty of 10 months olds only need two naps, i would definitely drop one.
