Baby only contact sleeps through day

I have a 6 week old baby boy and he only contact sleeps through the day. The bouncer he lasts like 5 mins if that and the same with the moses basket.
He sleeps fine through the night in his moses basket (waking for his feeds) but goes back down really easy.
Any suggestions or is this how a newborn baby just is?

I’d say you’re doing pretty well if he sleeps in his basket at night! Totally normal. Enjoy the contact naps and find a good box set to watch ☺️ I also used a sling.

The fact he’s sleeping well at night is really great!
A lot of babies do need to feel close to you when they sleep so contact napping is very common. If you feel you need to get some things done you could try getting a sling or carrier so you can move about more and let him sleep? Otherwise… grab some snacks, get on Netflix and enjoy a cuddle!

Sling, sling, sling. And accept you won’t get much done. Lean in to being nap trapped. Holding/wearing baby even when they nap is building a strong bond of trust between you. That’s more important at this stage than any load of laundry, washing up or cleaning. And if he’s sleeping in his crib at night then you are absolutely winning compared to a lot of people at this early stage!

This is pretty normal OP. Does a moving pram work at all? Although it is frustrating at times enjoy the baby snuggles.

My 14 month old still only contact naps or naps in the car.. I've just had to embrace the cuddles and know I'll miss them one day!
