3 year old waking up during night

Hi everyone

We have a 3 year old who in the past year or so has started to come through during the night around 2/3 times. We usually put him to bed and lie with him until he falls asleep but it’s making us both so so tired, aswell as him. I’ve read some previous posts that suggest just putting him back to bed and just saying ‘bedtime’ or keep it really simple and then walk out and repeat if he gets back up again. My problem is he will scream the house down if we do this so many times. I don’t think he’s scared or anything I just think he’s not a great self soother. Do we go through the tantrums during the night and this will eventually stop? Any help will be greatly appreciated

I found the Ni Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers & Preschoolers helped.

DC1 needed taking up with calories during the day. This guide from the Caroline Walker Trust might suggest some tweaks with his diet that might help.

DC2 liked being warm. We eventually got them a weighted blanket which helped. She also has done good sleep associations, like a light and music thing.

Hope you find some things that work for you Flowers
