Help! 5 month old refuses to sleep in cot

DS slept well until 4 months old, then hit the sleep regression. We managed okay with a few extra wakings overnight and taking a bit longer to get to sleep.. Started with an extra wake 45 mins after being put down and has gradually spiralled. Now adamantly refuses to sleep in his cot, at all, ever. We have tried everything (waiting until in deep sleep, waiting variable times, putting down drowsy, dummy, warming the cot, white noise....) but it's officially a no from him.. So having to co-sleep which for me is basically not sleeping and freezing without a duvet and wrecking my back and hip. Really struggling, I don't understand why we can't get him comfy in his cot :( even for 2 hours, even for an hour a night would be a start. Feeling really lost and exhausted, tips very welcome

Just wanted you to know your not alone!
It happened to us with the 4 month regression I think just being consistent with everything helped, we would just keep trying to put her down but then once 1am came just co slept. But gradually she went longer and longer in the cot again.
Then just as you get through it....My 6 month baby has become allergic to her cot again, its so hard. :(
