Hi
I am looking for some advice on how to help my baby sleep through the night. She’s always been a very good sleeper, she has a bottle directly before bed but is usually awake when we put her down and will happily turn over and go to sleep.
For around 6 weeks now, most nights she will wake up at 1:30ish for 1-1.5 hours, she seems wide awake. We don’t give her milk (tried and this didn’t settle her and affected her morning feed), don’t turn on lights or take her downstairs but she just does not seem tired.
We’ve got to a point where she will only settle in our bed and she is very unsettled tossing and turning so is not a restful sleep for her. Whilst this is affecting me and my partner as we both work ful time, I am more concerned that she is not getting enough hours of good sleep and I don’t want this to start to affect her development.
She wakes for the day at 6ish, has one nap at nursery at around 12:30 for 1.5-2 hours and goes down for the night between 6:30&7. She has 3 meals and snacks and also a bottle of whole milk morning and bedtime.
we’ve tried changing her from a sleeping bag to a duvet but this didn’t help.
unsure of what more I need to do in order to help her get a restful nights sleep or whether sleep training would be the way to go? I don’t wish to do controlled crying though personally.
thank you for any help!
