Can teething cause this much sleep disruption?

I don’t remember having this issue with my first. However my little one 10mo hasn’t got any teeth yet, but today has been sooooo grumpy and had rubbish naps. The last week as well he’s had rancid acidic explosive nappies which gave him a sore bum.
tonight we put him down and he was fine but woke up screaming and would not have his dummy at all! brought him downstairs for a cuddle etc and tried again, he just screamed and he has been like this for the last 2.5 hrs, non stop inconsolable. I’ve tried rocking, cuddling, singing, each time we try his dummy he screams. I’ve given neurofen, teething powder, ice cold water. He’s just still crying and WILL NOT SLEEP! Any advice or will he just sleep eventually, can’t bare to hear him like this 😭

I'm guessing it might be worth getting him checked out at the GP just in case but... my youngest DD basically got all her teeth really early in one long teething nightmare - so it may be that yours is similar. It meant she was very unhappy for quite a while... 😩 At least then it was done and dusted! Good luck, OP

Definitely take him to the GP - mine all have ear infections which need antibiotics when sleep is this disrupted. Did he have a cold a week ago?
