DP was hospitalised for 6 months and during that time ds was getting quite anxious at night so I (stupidly) let him sleep in my bed.Dp is now home but preferring to sleep on the sofa as he has a suprapubic catheter in that often leaks around the exit site and he doesn't want to wet the bed endlessly, poor dp.Trouble is since dp has been home although ds is going to bed in his own bed noew he wakes every night pleading to come back in with me.I want ds to be sleeping in his own bed especially as he will be starting school in September. How do I break this cycle??TIA thanks.Feeling like a useless mum.

Similar problem with my DS who's 5. He was being bullied at school, and getting nightmares, so ended up in our bed every night.

I have started for the last few weeks doing 3 nights in his bed, and then 1 in ours as a treat. He then only gets to stay in with me and DH if he has stayed in his room ALL NIGHT for the 3 nights. Last week he did all week in his own room, with the promise of coming in to our room fri night. so far this week, he hasn't even mentioned coming into my room, so fingers crossed, it seems to be working.
