Hiya.

My unicorn baby is giving me a bit of an unusual turn of events.
Our current routine is
920am till 10am sleep
1230pm till 2pm sleep
430pm till 5pm sleep.

She is fighting this last nap and normally dropping of around 450pm. I give her 15 mins and then bedtime is 740pm. This suits us with late bedtime. Bubs sees dad from work and goes to bed same time as sister.

Ideally I want the routine to be
945am till 11am
2pm till 330pm/4pm
730pm bed.

However. She isn't ready for this yet. She's Blw so not eating a lot. She will not let me feed her under any circumstances. And not ready to drop a bottle. Currently has 4 a day at 7am. 11am. 3pm. 7pm.

What do I do? Sounds silly but do I extend the last wake window? So pop her down 15mins later and only give a short nap till bedtime? Or how do I fit the bottles in around the routine above. I need 4 hours between bottles.

If i put my girls to bed at 630pm/7pm they will literally not sleep 12 hours. Neither of my kids can do 12 hours more 10 to 11 hour.

Thanks 😊

What makes you say she isn't ready? If she's fighting last nap and now it's super short it sounds like she's ready to drop it, sounds the same as my DS was before he dropped it at 8 months. When he dropped it he jumped to a 9:30-11 nap and 14-15:30 nap and bed at 19:00. His night sleep also naturally extended from about 11 hours overnight to 12 where he was more tired in the day from being awake for longer.

I get the later bedtime is nice as she can see dad and bed same time as sister but it just might not work well like that for a while when moving to two naps. When on two naps her awake time will slowly extend again. DS a few days off 13 months now and is maxing out a two nap day schedule as needs more awake time, bed currently 19:15-19:30. His night sleep has shrunk back again now also where he doesn't need to make up for being awake so much in the day with night sleep, because he can cope with it. He gets about 11 hours again overnight.

Also DS was on 4 bottles when going to two naps

We did

7am bottle
8am solids
9:30 - 11 nap
11:30 bottle
13:00 solids
14-15:30 nap
15:45 bottle
19:00 bed

Then as solids increased we dropped 15:45 bottle for solids

Sorry that should say

19:00 bottle and bed

OK thank you, I just realised she's almost 9 months. I think we're going to drop the 3rd nap 😬 she's currently fighting her 3rd nap again 😆
Can I do just 3 bottles a day and can I offer after food? So a routine like:
730am/8am breakfast
9am milk
930am/945am sleep for 1.5 hours.
11am snack.
12pm lunch.
1pm milk.
2pm sleep
345pm wake
4pm snack
5pm/515pm dinner.
630pm/645pm bottle
730pm bed.

I ask this because if I do 4 bottles a day she takes barely anything for her morning feed anyway. Like 4oz max. Adding all the bottles up on 4 bottles she would take - 26oz. But if she had 3 8oz bottles it be 24oz.

I remember this with my first kid. Such doubt in your mind.

Thank you for any advise you give me next.

Yeah it's worth trying, if you think she will take the 8oz three times. I know my DS wouldn't finish 8oz bottles often, max usually 7oz so we did 4 smaller bottles until he was ready to drop one, it's hard to work out what's right for them but you will get there.
DS almost 13 months and has three 'bottles' (in process to switching to straw cups) of cows milk a day and doesn't affect his eating so sticking with it for now.
He has
First thing (around 7am) 5oz
13:30 5oz
Bed 6oz

As well as three meals and two snacks

OK thank you 😊
Yes I think she would take 3 8oz 3 times a day. She can easily take 8oz in her 11am and 7pm feed. So makes me think its time. The morning and 3pm one is difficult to get in her, along side cmpa milk. It's enough to put anyone off.

Mmmmm yes. Maybe comparing to your little one perhaps a bit soon. I might just go for it for a few days as the current routine is not working for us now. Fed up with encouraging milk and at the 7am and 3pm. So something needs to alter. I'm guessing she will let me know if she wants her milk 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think when my eldest was your little ones age she was only having her evening milk. By kids are milk haters 😆 🤣
