Does it ever get easier?

My DD has just turned 3. Her sleep has always been a handful, I’m just worried it’s never going to get better! She can stay up for 15 hours, is that at all normal? Today she got up an hour earlier but went to bed later. This just makes me feel like I’m never ever going to get out of this bad cycle. I often fall asleep with her and have to drag myself up to finish my chores. I feel like she’s the only kid who doesn’t go to bed early (I know this mustn’t be true?! Please) and I feel like a failure 😞 I’ve always thought it might get better…when she starts school, but will it?? I remember when I was younger my dad would tell me Children needed more sleep than adults when I wanted to stay up...if she won’t go to bed now will it not just get worse as she gets older? Has anyone ever been in this situation and did it get better?!

Hi OP

My friends are a year in front and one of them who had a DS who was a "bad sleeper" is sparko after school!

My 3.5yo DD can stay awake for about 13-14 hours, dropped all the naps early etc. It's exhausting!

Not sure what time your day starts but I made thie consistent and found a way not to lie with her to sleep and that was better and I was less resentful. Appreciate that's much easier to type than do.
