Baby unsettled movements and noises in sleep

My 12 week old baby boy constantly moves and thrashes his arms and legs with grunting noises at night. He is a great sleeper. Usually sleeping peacefully until his once a night wake up. After that feed (and burped) he seems to be very restless. Moving constantly and grunting. His eyes are closed throughout. I’m constantly checking him to make sure he’s ok and still sleeping. Very rarely results in crying.

My baby had this, we joked it was like sleeping next to a farmyard animal after 2am.
He showed separate signs of a dairy intolerance so I went dairy free ( I was BF) and on day three the grunting totally stopped and he was a lot better. I reintroduced it gradually 5week later and it never started again, maybe his gut needed a break, no idea. He's two now and has grown out of any intolerance he had (I say any because it wasn't severe enough for me to feel it needed it properly investigated)

Sounds like active sleep. They (mostly) grow out of it.

We had this too, DS grew out of it. No need to worry :-)

Both my kids did this and they grew out of it.

sounds like active sleep, we struggled to sleep next to it that DS went into his own room from 10 weeks so we could actually sleep ourselves. he then promptly grew out of active sleep soon after moving to his own room 😂
