Sleep Training (Ferber) in baby who feeds to sleep?

Hello! I am after some advice to see if (and how) others have done this.

6 month old baby who is healthy and thriving. Decision made after a long time thinking to sleep train (most likely Ferber method). I appreciate this is controversial but is the right thing for our family.

Baby is currently rocked to sleep for cot naps (or naps in pram/car/carrier). At bedtime she has a routine (bath, book etc), big bedtime breastfeed in low-lit nursery, falls asleep and is placed in cot asleep.

My questions:

  • did you use the Ferber method for naps too (putting down awake) with shorter check ins? And did you start this at the same time as the night waking sleep training?
  • how did you overcome baby being asleep from feed at bedtime? Ferber says to put down awake but unless we actively wake her up, her bedtime feed leads her to sleep. What have you done in your experience?

Any advice very much appreciated!

I uses to feed my son to sleep. Didn't always go to sleep. But put himself to sleep. He stopped feeding to sleep at around 13 months I think. It was just easier to continue it
