Early morning walking insomnia

Anyone else struggling with this at the moment?

I’ve been waking up between 4-4.30 for a few months and been unable to get back to sleep.

I feel like I’ve tried everything! Good sleep hygiene, no screens, no caffeine, podcasts/meditation, getting up and going downstairs, supplements…nothing has worked.

I’ve been seeing a lot that it could be peri-menopause and I do wake up with night sweats sometimes, but I’m only 33. I have a toddler who slept dreadfully for a long time but is finally sleeping through til 7 and yet I can’t seem to!

Not sure if I’m looking for advice or just some solidarity but is anyone else going through it?

Fellow insomniac here. It doesn't matter what I do, I barely sleep at all. It's got worse since diagnosed with overactive thyroid and put on beta blockers but since I was a kid I've suffered insomnia. No advice just solidarity, you really aren't alone

I have early waking phases, but this time of year is usually ok for me (until the clock change turns my 6.30 waking to 5.30 again 😣).
In the summer I watch the sunrise and enjoy the peaceful quiet in the garden.
In winter I watch the snowfall when it happens.
If I wake earlier than 4 I make sure to nap at some point during the day to catch up.

Me too, not so much recently but had been away so quite tired/jet lag so few nights sleeping through but was awake early this morning and am tired! I try to read to get me back off. But if it’s a work day I’m up at 0550 so it almost seems pointless maybe it’s a mind thing. But it leaves me tired constantly. Thankfully no toddler but have 13 yo autistic son who can be awake most of the night then won’t get up for school etc

Obviously just realised the title should say early morning waking not walking - another sign my brain is not fully functioning!

I also normally sleep better at this time of year when it is dark, but sadly not this time
