I want to move my LO into her own room and stop contact napping…

for context

  • did first 12 weeks in the next to me, woke up within seconds of being put down every time, would have to be held
  • at 12 weeks brought her into bed (using sleep safe 7) much better as no crying and I didn’t need to get up, but still 6-10 times a night and had to be connected to boob
  • 80% of the time she needs boob in her mouth to stay asleep, 100% time needs boob to fall asleep, won’t take a dummy
  • has to be carried around because the pram is too far away from us (she screams and cries) so she really hates being apart!
  • have tried to get her in her room at 6mo and she cried for over an hour while being rocked/held/sung to/put on the boob, so i gave up. I can’t take the crying it breaks my heart.
  • now looking to try again at 8 mo

anyone had a similar experience?
she’s so happy and gorgeous, I am dreading changing things. But my husband and I can’t continue like this so something needs to change. Any advice would be amazing.

Hi! I has this with my 4 year old when we tried to move her. In the end with used Ferber when she was about 14 months. Until then I just cos kept as everything else failed however look at Sleep Well with Hannah as she tackles this very issue and has very good success rate with her approach.

i now have a 5 month old son who sleeps a bit better (will go in cot and next to me for some of night) but dealing with wake ups every 2-3 hours is killing me so i don't know how I managed with DD who woke every 45 mins for the boob for 14 months 😭😭😭 solidarity and good luck!
