So currently on holiday night 1 done and honestly don't think I can sleep here any longer.

The pain that radiates my lower back through the night is unbearable. It's keeping me awake all night tossing and turning trying to get comfortable but Ir doesn't matter what way I move it stops hurting for 5 mins then back to agony again.

Is there anything I can do to help?

I'm assuming it has to be the mattress because I do not get back ache from my own bed. I do have buldging discs but never any discomfort during the night at home.

Nightmare. I have issues. I find one pillow for head, one for under knees and one to put feet on helps enormously. Good luck OP.

Yes or if you're a side sleeper put a pillow between your knees it helps massively

Can you try flipping the mattress, or if spare duvet use it like a topper

CheeseWisely · 20/10/2024 09:57

Are you in a hotel? Speak to reception. They may have different mattress types in different rooms, or toppers to make a hard mattress softer, boards to slide under a soft mattress to make it firmer etc.

If it's an Airbnb or Villa though you might be out of luck.

@BCBird @SendHelp999 thank you for this I will try this tonight even sitting up and standing up was excruciating, been up out of bed for some time now and still in agony.

@Sillysausage76 the mattress feels the same either side but I will flip it tonight to see if it makes any difference. No spare duvets but I did lie on top of the duvet for a while last night but it didn't make any difference.

@CheeseWisely it's an appartment we are in, cleaners come regularly so I will see if I can look out for one and see if they have anything to help. Thank you.
