Swaddle transition difficulty!

Another post from me tonight, tackling the swaddle transition.. My DD will be 5 months this coming Tuesday and I know I need her arms free in her sleeping bag, due to rolling.

I’m finding she is waking a lot and then not settling easy… Any advise, is it just a stick it out she’ll get used to it or are there some tips and tricks that worked for yourselves that made it easier for you & them?

Thanks!

We did 1 arm for a few nights then the other then both and that worked well!

Thanks @Purplerain1144 currently exactly what I have her like at the minute 😬 She is waking up a lot but assuming it’s what I’ll have to deal with for a few nights?
(Hoping it’s very few!)

The way I’m looking at it is that we have no choice… She needs her arms out to be safe.

I was dreading this too as I felt that the limited sleep we got was down to swaddling, but DD suddenly started rolling and so we had to go cold turkey (ie couldnt do one arm in one arm out). She has actually been fine and has not woken up more than usual - in fact since she has learned to roll she has been a bit more settled. I hope it is the same for you x

@tortiecat Oooh amazing! I really hope so 😬 I think if she gets on well tonight, I may just go straight to arms out… I really want to rip that band aid off but we’ll see what sleep deprived me feels about that in the next 24 hrs 🤣

Yes one of those short term pain things you have to muddle through. She will get there!!
