DS won't go to sleep!

Normally I feed my son to sleep and if that fails then DH rocks him to sleep. I have fed him three times and DH is away and he is still awake. He's too heavy for me to rock and I don't want him to cry it out. Any ideas???

How old is he? Did he have a longer nap than usual? Is he genuinely tired yet?

Feed number four seems to have done the trick touch wood. What a nightmare! He is six months. He was really tired but just wouldn't go to sleep. I am not sure what I will do now that I can't rock him to sleep anymore.
