I am not sure if this is normal and we are in an ever changing routine during the day. For extra info my boy is ebf and during day sleeps either on me in car or in Pram(onky when out and about)
Anyway he gets up for the day, around 7 has 2 30-45 min naps in morning then 2 back to back naps starting around 12/1 he wakes feeds goes back to sleep for 4th nap these back to back naps at moment last total of4-5 hours. Now here is my issuenfor last 2 weeks he will rarely nap after 5/530
Since week 5 We were doing bedtime at 830 but last week or so have had to pull that earlier as he so grumpy in evenings as 3 hours awake just doesn't work for him but he refuses to nap and we have tried it all.
So is it normal for 8/9 week old to have an early bedtime. Ie 730-8
We do have a bedtime routine we go up dim lights, me and baby get into our pyjamas while listening to lullaby, then we have a story while he looks at pictures or stares at my window shutters (he loves chatting to them), finally sleeping bag then big feed where he normally falls asleep, burp and resting on me and then into crib where he stays for the night apart from when being fed.

My baby was still downstairs in the evenings with us at that age until about 10pm, but he would be napping on us and then feeding until about 11pm. It doesn’t sound unusual.

As I remember it, at 9 weeks (2-3mos-ish) old, babies are all over the place. They eat and sleep as and when. The 'ever changing' aspect sounds normal but I wouldn't call it a 'routine'.

Also my DS goes to sleep fine at 6.30pm now despite not having much of a routine in the first few months. I think I introduced a ‘bedtime’ at about 3 months.

My baby always went to bed for the night between 6-7pm since newborn. No idea how or why but he just did. 8 months now and still the same!
