Should I change baby or feed him when he wakes from a sleep?

Please help me work out what order I need to do things in!

Once my baby has woken from a sleep, he has a wet nappy and is hungry.

If I change him first then he gets more distressed because he’s really hungry and isn’t getting the food. This had lead to full on crying and yelling ☹️

But if I feed him first then he’s just lying longer in a wet nappy. Which isn’t good either.

He is two weeks old. What is the best order to do things in please?!

Honestly it's really just personal preference. Personally I changed first and fed second at that age because he'd fall back asleep after his feed and I didn't like to disrupt that.

I'd feed, change when she'd lose interest and then try feeding again to make sure she took a decent amount - and for night feeds to maximise the chances of going straight back.

I think I used to da the same as @WYorkshireRose .
is it possible to feed him a bit, change him then finish the feed?

Unless you are using terry nappies then I would just leave nappy change til morning.
I literally maybe once in feeding 5 babies changed a nappy during the night. The disposables are dry to the touch pretty much unless utterly sodden and changing is just more disruption instead of dreamy feeding them and letting them get back to sleep.

I reckon it depends on your baby. My first always wanted to feed to sleep so I did nappy first. My second wants to feed then have some awake time, so I do feed first, as long as the nappy is just wet and not dirty.

I usually nappy first then feed

That was exactly how I did it. And then gradually we got to the point where he didn’t need it changed overnight anymore as nappies were only wet so could wait until the morning.

He likes to feed to sleep and woe betide if I try to interrupt his feed halfway through.

So thank you all I will do the changes first! And hopefully the feeding can soothe him afterwards.
