Jetlagged Baby - HELP!!!

Hello,

We got back from our holiday in Florida on Saturday and our 15 month old son hasn't wanted to sleep in his cot since! He screams and screams and we have done the worse thing possible, brought him in with us!!!

We made a decision not to do it tonight and has now screamed for nearly an hour and a half.

Any tips on how to get through this? Before our holiday he was a good sleeper and went down at 7.30pm most nights.

hi you could try the homeopathic remedy arnica, it' great for jetlag.
helps with that 'bruised exhausted' feeling.

Is it definetely jetlag? did you all share a room on holiday? we got back last week from california, and dd2 (14 months) has been unhappy about going to bed ever since. She shared a room with dd1 on holiday, and fell asleep to the sound of dd1 rciting her favourite book every night, and I think now she is objecting to being left on her own again. We have sat it out so far (with many a visit back to reassure that she's not being totally abandoned, but I do wish that we could have our happy-to-go-to-bed baby back

I'd be tempted to go for huge routines and plan most of his day like a military campaign. Our lo's have always got out of all their usual habits and been unsettled on getting home from hols ( @ Florida) but sticking in definite and fairly rigid times for getting up, breakfast, play, lunch, naps (important that one, put him in pram or wherever at the same time eg after lunch each day) and a massive bedtime routine of bath, story, milk and then turn the lights down / lamp or nightlight on with heaps of reassurance etc - basically go back a stage if that's what it takes.
We still have to do this with our two youngest when the blardy clocks go forward... it fixes the problem in a few days for us, relatively stress free for them and us [vs heaps of screaming, them and us!]

Thanks for your messages everyone. It such a nightmare isn't it. He screamed for two hours last night and has never been a screamer.

I think Silverfrog is right, as he did share a room with us on holiday and I think he is now confused as to why he is back on his own.

I am beginning to wonder if the holiday was worth it!!!

We had a holiday in Florida few weeks ago with our 8month old, he was in the same room as us too and it to took a while when we returned home for him to settle again. Mind you he slept like a log we got loads of lay ins on hols prob because he could hear us breathing so was reassuring, but not good when we got back home!
