Newborn - too much sleep ?

Admittedly am paranoid 1st time mum , but since birth my newborn (11days old) has napped well in the daytime (2-3hrs at a time), but been awake every hour/hour and a half at night time. Last night she slept from 4am to 10am without waking up and today has had a nap of 4 hours without waking. For the short times she has been awake, she seemed fine and fed well ie not lethargic.
Is this change normal ? Does it mean she is taking on more food or is this something else I should be looking out for ?

I am no expert but I think 2-4 hours seems quite normal. 6 hours seems a bit unusual in a newborn but they come in all sorts and shapes. But I will let to others who are more knowledgeable to get back to you properly. I just didn't want you to be ignored.

In my experience it usually takes a good 4-6 weeks to get settled into a good sleeping and eating pattern, but they all vary!

I wouldn't think it to be unusual for your PFB to be slightly different from day-to-day but you will probably soon notice a more regular pattern starting to happen and when it does...life is so much easier!!

HTH!
GOOD LUCK
