8 month old sleep - struggling!

Hi

My 8 month old daughter has been a good sleeper on and off but for the last 6 weeks she’s been waking every hour or two and getting harder to settle.

I do try to put her down drowsy but awake and it takes forever to settle her but then she’ll be up again in an hour moaning. She’s not hungry and has a clean nappy and sometimes she has calpol if it’s a particularly bad day for teething. I’ve tried white noise and a comforter (for supervised naps). She has the room blacked out.

any other parents going through some sort of regression at this age? I’m shattered! Praying it gets better - she sometimes even wakes for more than one feed a night!!

any advice or parents in a similar situation let me know! Thank you xxx

I remember the 8 month sleep regression well. They also have separation anxiety too at 8 months. No advice as such, just solidarity and it really does end😅

Mine was like that. Bit different as we cosleep so I could just shove a boob back in her mouth but she had a phase of waking really regularly around that age. I think it was definitely teething contributing to it. Also maybe she needs naps adjusting.

I'm still in a slight regression at 8 months. It is getting much better there is hope! Gone from 2 hrly wake ups to just one wake (at the moment!) When it was particularly bad I then noticed she naturally dropped to two naps, which I think was contributing and also two teeth popped out. This phase isn't for the weak! Hope it improves soon!

We had a hiccup with sleep around this age but it was because she was moving towards a nap transition, are you on 3 or 2 naps?

Funny you should say this she’s on 3 but some days they’re either really short or she has only had 2 longer ones so it makes sense now.

Thank you for the info girls it helps to know I’m not on my own! X
