15 month not sleeping

Hi,

Our 15 month old will go down happily in his cot (around 7pm), but repeatedly wakes up crying from 9.30/10pm onwards every night. Settling him every half hour or hour is exhausting, so he normally ends up in bed with us.

Any advice on getting him to sleep through the night in his cot?

There is a sleep regression at 18 months that can come earlier or later. We had it from 17 months and it lasted nearly 3 months and included night waking, early starts, and the dreaded split nights - they were the worst. Gradually it went away but we actually cut down her nap time to try to combat it, which helped. She was on 1 nap and having up to 2.5 hours, at 18 months we cut it to 1.5 hours (NHS say this is the minimum 18 months old need) and things got better. If yours is on two naps, maybe time to drop to 1 nap. But apparently sleep regression probably should only last a few weeks so it may well pass naturally, we just get unlucky as our little one gets hit like a tonne of bricks with every regression!
