So I have a beautiful 15 week old DD but from 5 weeks old she has been an absolute nightmare for sleep fighting sleep will only contact nap after being bounced and rocked to sleep. She won't sleep in buggy , car or sling I nearly lost my mind for a few weeks it was so bad .

Anyway a small miracle has happened and she has started self settling at night , it's not perfect but she tries really hard to settle herself and I feel like I've won the lotto as her night sleep is really good. However she won't settle for naps at all, it's the same room same environment, room is dark so I'm not sure how I help her or do I just keep going rocking and contact napping until she figures it out herself ? I know she is still very little so I won't force anything but would love to be able to bring her places it's just not worth it at the minute as she ends up so over tired from not sleeping that it could take 3 hours to settle her when we do get home also the screams in the car from tiredness and fighting sleep are traumatic I'm not doing that again any time soon. So if she could master the falling to sleep by herself it would be life changing .

Baby’s that young really can’t self settle properly. The fact she does it at night is quite a miracle and you’ve definitely won the jackpot there! my 20 month old still won’t self settle to sleep naps or bedtime!
Although the sleep business will tell you otherwise, you can’t really teach how to self settle. Babies will do it when they are ready and that can be when they are a lot older.
At 15 weeks enjoy the cuddles and contact naps. I’m sorry you don’t feel you can go out. I managed to with a sling with mine, have you tried a different model? What type are you using? I found these a god send!

@Brightandbreezey I actually tried her again yesterday in the ergo baby embrace and she seems quiet content so will try her for short periods over the next few days to get her used to it and see how we go from there
