Confused FTM safe sleep

Hi all, FTM here to a 14 week old boy. Basically he was in a moses basket from birth till about a month ago when he could start to roll over. We have the shnuggle air bedside crib and he's been in that since.

All been fine and this morning I woke up and he was facing the side, like face squished into the side so I don't know if he's rolled over in his sleep or woken up and done it but now I'm panicking he'll suffocate one night. The sides are mesh and material so not mesh all the way down. I just looked it up online to research if it's safe and all the next to me, including this one are saying it's not safe to be in it once they can pull up or roll over. He can roll, but not flip himself back yet.

Money is tight and I wasn't planning on changing the cot until six months, which is what the website also says. Is it no longer safe for him to be in the cot ? Do I need to buy something new ? Please help! X

Could you ask your health visitor about it? Give them a ring.

One thing to bear in mind - cots are basically all the same. We got a secondhand one for £10 or so and a new mattress to go in it. Way cheaper than a new one. Don't know how you feel about secondhand stuff but it could be an option.

By all the same I mean the bells and whistles you get don't make a difference to baby sleep, they need to be safe and clean but other than that they're all the same.
