8 month old routine

So my little ones starting nursery in a couple of weeks when I go back to work. He’s still not sleeping through the night like my first was at 6 months old. Sometimes our days start at 4am and it’s a killer. I’m so tired!

I’ve tried a couple of variations of naps and can’t seem to get it right with the two naps.

I’ve looked up schedules and some say naps 0900-0945 then nap 1230-3/3:30 then bed at 7. Sometimes he can just sleep 50 mins meaning we have to add in another cat nap and then the next day sleep 3 hrs and we can get away with 2 naps! It’s so unpredictable.

yestefays routine was

woke up 0645
bottle @7:15
breakdast @8
nap 0900-0950
bottle @ 1030
lunch @ 11:45
nap 1230-3pm (this was a good day)
bottle upon waking
tea = small snack as trying to wean him slowly onto 3rd meal
bedtime bottle @6:30
bed at 6:45 pm

then I did a dream feed at 1045pm and then he woke at 4am, then settled for 15 mins then up for the day. 😫

can anyone share your routines to see where im going wrong ?

three hours is a long nap! I think they are meant to be up for a minimum of ten hours a day (some babies want more) but on your schedule it looks like he's only having around 8 hours awake time?I think you might have to cut down nap time if you want to try and get him to sleep 12 hours at night. that being said mine gets up stupidly early too despite me trying to keep naps down

Neither of mine would have slept at 6.45 if they had napped until 3.
I would do 2h max afternoon nap - 12-2 say then bed at around 7pm.
I would be expecting one wake up during the night at 8 months, not many sleep through at that age.
Waking at 4am is a killer though, I'll admit I would just bring them in to bed with me if I had to get up for work in the morning, at least everyone slept then

@Button28384738 thank you, however he seems very overtired at bedtime even when waking at 3 😫 but then trying to fit in a 15 min catnap at 4:30 is getting hard. I just feel stuck which is annoying as sleeps getting worse as I’m going back to work 😥
