Hi there, my 4 year old has never been a good sleeper. She often wakes up anywhere between midnight - 5am and then she is awake for hours so I am awake for hours. And then often getting up with my toddler who sleeps through but wakes early. I cannot understand why my 4 year wakes so much in the night. We tire her out and put her to bed normally around 7/7:30pm and she has a good routine, bath each night etc. Does anyone have any advice please as I am a broken woman surviving on so little sleep.

Is she getting the recommended very min of 3 hours of exercise a day?

What is happening when she is awake?

Try putting her to bed later

Is the bed comfortable? We changed to a tempur mattress and light duvet for our 4yr old and they sleep well now. Make sure the environment they sleep in encourages sleep with a soft night light.

Thanks all. That's really good advice. Yes she gets lots of exercise. I think we need to try a later bedtime and also perhaps swapping her bed as I'm not sure it's the most comfortable.
