Transition to toddler bed

Does anyone have any tips to transition to a toddler bed please 🙏

My DD can get her foot over the bars on her cot so I know I need to get rid of the side but she's still in a sleeping bag, and I know she'll just get out of bed and then fall over because she can't walk in her sleeping bag. Ideally I want her out of the sleeping bag and a have a duvet or blanket instead before I remove the side.

She'll be 2 in October. I gave her a toddler duvet and pillow last month and she had a meltdown at these intruders in her bed

I've tried the pillow a few times, nap times and bedtime and she just wants it out, I've tried putting it under the fitted sheet as well but she still wants it out.

Any tips to get in a toddler bed with normal bedding please 🙏

She doesn't need a pillow, that's a fight that's just not worth having.

If she doesn't want a blanket, put her in warmer pyjamas.

If she wants to keep the sleeping bag, leave the bottom open so she can get her feet through. Or don't, let her fall over once and hope that she stays in bed after that!

This is actually a very good point. When you put it that way it makes me wonder why I was stressing.

I'll try her without a sleeping bag and just some warm pjs and see how she goes
