My nearly 7 week old has been asleep for 3.5 hours and last feed was nearly 5 hours ago (beginning of feed), do I wake him up in future to be fed? In his first week he had jaundice but now is gaining weight rapidly, was born 8lbs6oz, went down 8% which was ok but had to do top ups with formula, now I’m fully breast feeding and he’s 11lb14oz. He’s also sleeping more at night, the other night he slept from 8pm-3am, now he’s gaining weight fine I didn’t think I needed to wake him up?

I (bottle) fed mine every 3 hours in the day to fill them up and get a longer stretch at night. But personal preference. If baby is healthy, gaining weight well and no signs of dehydration then there’s no medical need to wake them.
