4 month sleep regression - do I need to get rid of dummy?

I know there's lots of different ideas about this, but would like to hear other people's experience.

My DD is 4 months and I think she's been going through sleep regression for the last month. At the moment she usually wakes up every hour through the night and I have to either put her dummy back in her mouth or pick up/feed her to settle her again.

Do I need to teach her to sleep without a dummy to get through this, or will she eventually learn to stitch sleep cycles together herself without me getting rid of the dummy?

I'm reluctant to get rid of it as I don't know how we would get her to nap in the day without it, and it seems to help with her reflux as well.

Oh we had this, it drove us potty. At one point DH slept in the nursery next to a pile of them and just threw a new one into the cot. She also had reflux and found the dummy really useful, so we powered through.

She’s 18m now and I would like to drop it, but her sleep is only just settling and I’m too frightened to disrupt it again. We bought her a comforter that you can Velcro dummies to, and that makes it easier for her to find them independently (but your DD will still be too little for it).

I think we will probably end up just powering through as well ,- hoping it improves a bit soon 🙏

Good to know the velcro comforter is an option when she's older!
