My little girl had been a pretty good sleeper mostly sleeping through in a cot in her own room until a few months ago when she started only wanting to sleep in our bed we stupidly allowed this and now she won’t go in her cot at all. We’ve tried transferring her once she’s asleep but she wakes instantly and cries and cries. I’ve tried laying down next to her cot but again she cries until we take her out. I tried a sleep consultant but they just advised to keep trying ti transfer her and it’s just not working. Does anyone have any tips or have been through this I’m really struggling.

I'm in the same boat OP. I don't know if it's sleep regression or what! We've got a night light (she said she didn't like the dark) but she'll periodically wake up wanting me. I've managed to get sleeping in her own room till around 5ish some nights, last few having been draining though!

Oh really how did you get her to go in her cot? I really don’t want to do the cry it out method I’m not sure what I can do! I’ve searched lots of groups but can’t seem to find much advice

I watch on the video monitor to see if she self soothes, but if she's not fallen back asleep after 5 minutes I go back in and give her a cuddle. We have a chair in her room, so I'll sit there with her and then when she's dropped off to sleep I put her back in her bed and make a break for it 😂 She has 2 cuddly toys that she sleeps with, they seem to help settle her most of the time.

She's ready for her own open bed I'd guess?

At 2 it’s time for a bed not a cot.

Try sleep training, the gentle method where you sit on a chair and move it every 3 days
