9 month old naps

Can I get any advice on what to do with my 9 month old naps? The problem I'm having is that she doesn't seem tired enough by the end of a recommended wake window. She can go on 4/5 hours before she starts to get tired so I am struggling to fit 2 naps in a day. Is it normal for a 9 month old to have 1 nap a day? We have definitely been going through a regression for around a month and she has so many teeth coming through too so that's not helping.

Yesterday schedule
7am wake
11:10 nap for 2 hrs 40 mins
18:40 bedtime - woke up 40 mins later but when straight back to sleep after I rocked her.

Today
6am wake
10:20 nap for 1hr 15 mins ( I woke her from this nap in attempt to fit in an afternoon nap)
Been trying to put her down for 40 mins for another nap but she won't have it and doesn't seem tied!

Can't offer advice but stumbled across your post so thought I'd bump it for you Flowers

My son started nursery at 9 months and seemed to go down to just the one nap at similar times, I imagine as other children did that. Everything online told me he should have 2 and he did occasionally at a weekend but mostly the 1.... wouldn't worry too much - they generally have just 1 nap a day by 1 anyway. Do they sleep through the night?

The best advice I have ever received around baby sleep schedules is to look at the amount of sleep they have over a 24 hour period. At 9 month, most advice says babies need between 12 and 15 hours total sleep needs - so your little one seems to be at the ‘top end’ of that.

My little one is 9 1/2 months and generally has 2 naps a day, one short and one long (sometimes longer one in the morning), but if they are awake at 7.30 then they aren’t ready for bed until around 9. Occasionally he will miss his first nap/be awake longer, and have one long 2- 2 1/2 hr nap - but then he does seem to be cranky for a while before bed (just refusing to sleep!)

Wake windows are now between 3 and 5 hours, with the longest one before bed. He also wakes 2-3 times to feed in the night (for a matter of minutes, dream feeds to sleep again!).

Boredom can also be confused with tiredness, so it’s always worth trying a new activity or fresh air/change of scenery if baby isn’t settling.

My little usually goes down easily (contact nap then I transfer if I need to get stuff done), but if he starts rolling around or getting distracted, I try a quiet activity for a while.

Hope this is of some consolation or helps a little bit - baby sleep just seems to be a bit of a mystery! They’re all so different!

9/10 she does sleep through, I've been doing 1 nap a day for the past couple days and she seems to prefer that. Thankyou for your help!

Thankyou so much!! I thought I was doing harm by not giving her 2 naps and making her overtired from everything I read online! She has around 11/12 hours at night so definitely getting her recommended sleep. She does usually sleep through the night so guess I can't complain😂
