5 YO won't stay in her bed anymore

Hi all

DD who has turned 5 a few weeks ago is refusing to stay in her bed after bedtime.

Up until now she has been an angel. Would only get out if she needed a wee or some water which was very rarely

The past month has been awful. She just won't stay in her bed. She either says she's scared or that she's not tired. These are the main two reasons. Her usual bedtime has always been 19:00-19:30 and now she falls asleep at 23:00

We have tried EVERYTHING

In regard to her being scared .. we have a new nightlight - didn't work
Bought her a tonie box to listen to whilst she falls asleep - that didn't work
I have tried to wait on the landing with her bedroom door open - it didn't work

She wants me in her room by her bed. Which is not something I want to start doing as I have two younger children and DH works away for weeks, some months he is away for 2-3 weeks at a time.

She says she sees shadows. So we left the lights on - didn't work
Tried complete darkness- that didn't work.

Please has anyone got any more suggestions? She's such a lovely girl in the day but at night she completely turns into a monster. When I try to take her back to her room once she's downstairs she screams the house down .. waking the other two.
I'm so tired ...

I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions but we are experiencing exactly the same thing with an almost 4 year old.

It's ruining bedtime and really affecting my eldest child negatively.

I would love to know people's successful strategies.

Has anyone used a sleep trainer with any success?

I'm sorry you're going through this - it really isn't much fun and is so draining for everyone!
