First night trying Ferber method

I need a hand hold.

DD 14 months has been cuddled to sleep since she was born.

We now have a solid routine of dinner at 5, bath at 6, calm play and reading in her room until 7 and then a cuddle and bottle of milk until she drops off and I then put her in her cot.

My problem is, if she wakes at 11/3/5 on the odd occasion she doesn't know what to do other than scream for me or DH to cuddle her back to sleep.

I want to cut this out.

My plan is the normal routine then put her in her cot after bottle and cuddle/kisses, say goodnight its bed time and leave.

What kind of intervals should I do? I tried it at 11 months and went 5 minutes then 10 minutes then 12 minutes into 15 I relented and got her out and cuddled because she was sobbing and I hate it but I know I need to do this for her sake, she cannot self soothe at all.

Any tips/tricks/advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

We did Ferber with our ten month old. The first night was 30 minutes crying, night two ten minutes, night three less than one minute.
Night one was awful but all bedtimes were awful by that point anyway as she just suddenly couldn't fall asleep in my arms anymore.
I just stuck religiously to the timings online. I think for most babies it works after a couple of nights but you have to stick to it.

This is the one I followed. First night was about 20-25 minutes before she fell asleep. Second night was 5 and night three she didn't cry. Stick with it as first night is always bad but it should get easier after that.

I used Ferber with both babies, first at 13 months which was hell but lasted 3 nights and then he slept like a dream and still does 12 years on.

Used it with our 10 month old, two awful nights that I wouldn't want to repeat then he slept right through - life changing.

He's now 38 😆
