Rolling back to belly and getting stuck!

My 8MO has been rolling back to belly for what I guess is over 2 months now. He does prefer to sleep on his tummy and will always end up on it but refuses to roll back himself. He can do it, albeit not often, but I’ve seen him roll independently so I know it can happen! Whenever I try to practice he refuses to do it…so that’s not working for us!
Im just so tired of rolling him back when he cries, given his age. Is there anything to do or (as I fear) is it just a waiting game?

It was a waiting game for us. Once he was able to properly roll and wriggle and move into any position he wanted his sleep got much better. I think by about 9 or 9.5 months it didn't seem to be a thing anymore.

Same with us. I was quite paranoid by safe sleep advice so spent a few weeks rolling her back on to her back, sometimes of course this woke her up, but once she could reliably roll both ways I left her to it!

Oh, I totally feel you! My little one was the same way—he’d roll over to his tummy and refuse to go back. I was so tired of flipping him back every time, and it felt like a never-ending cycle! It sounds like your baby can do it, so that’s reassuring! Sometimes they just need their own time and space to figure it out when they’re ready.
