Can you still do cc when they are nearing 2yrs?

And can you do it when they are about to move into a cotbed?

I presume so (I did it much earlier) as I suspect the principles are much the same. I would do it before moving into the cot bed though so they can't get out and bang on the door (presuming that you close it!) I think that as long as they realise how serious you are they will eventually be fine. Not sure if there isn't an adaptation for older ones though - somebody will be along to tell you I'm sure. Good luckxxx

Don't make two changes to bedtime routine at once - that's asking for trouble IMO.

So either

move to bed having decided in advance whether to leave the door open but with a stairgate across it or leave the door shut. The see what happens to the sleep issue and use the rapid return approach - calm, no eye contact, back to bed despite the howling approach.

or

keep in cot and do the CC approach while your LO is still safly confined
