6 month old suddenly won’t sleep in crib

I have a nearly 6 month old EBF DS who settles in his crib for naps in the day or the first half of the night (fed to sleep or will settle without feeding in his crib or pram). Probably settles in crib without feeding 30% of the time.

He was waking up for feeds approx twice a night and going straight back to sleep however now around 12ish he will wake up have a feed go back to sleep but as soon as you put him in the crib he wakes back up unsettled.
The only way I have managed to get him back to sleep after a couple of hours of trying this is letting him co sleep (following all lullaby trust guidelines). But I don’t want to create a habit and don’t really want to cosleep I’ve just got desperate!
Then if I let him co sleep till his next feed at 4ish he will then go back and sleep in his crib.
He will also sleep in his crib between 8pm and midnight and for naps.

I’ve tried calpol in case it was teething although he doesn’t seem in pain as soon as he’s lying next to me he goes straight to sleep.
He refuses bottles or a dummy.

Has anyone got any suggestions or advise?
Thank you
