10 week old daytime naps

Hi all,

My 10 week old baby girl is sleeping very well at night - down at 8pm and recently has a good stretch til 3/4am. Before that it was 1am and again around 4am.

Her daytime sleep in the last few days have gone downhill . She will fall sleep in bouncer or buggy with me rocking (has never taken a dummy and she hasnt slept on me during thr day since she was about 6 weeks becuase she seemed to prefer just being in another "place" and settled fine) . She now only last about 10 mins, from then on she stirs/fidgets/start of a cry and will completely wake unless I keep rocking to settle her back down. She will drift in and out from then on all the while I'm rocking her and this will go on about an hour or more until eventually she just wont settle down at all, and then up until the next one 1.5 hours later . On very rare occasion she will drift back off and stay asleep longer.

. I carry on with the process this long though because she always seems like she is still tired, yawning and half falling asleep through the whole hour sometimes longer so I want to help her get there if she needs it. If she woke up wide awake happy after 10 mins I would just get her up.

I wondered if its because she's sleeping so well at night and doesn't need as much during the day? (before this started she was having one 2-3 hour nap and then shorter ones for rest of the day!) But as I said she still seems tired. She sleeps in a love to dream swaddle at night but hasn't really ever in the day . At night I rock her in my arms to sleep then transfer and the process can take about 1 hour if she stirs a couple of times but that works fine for me as she sleeps so well from then on through the night . I'm reluctant to do the same routine for the day if she's just going to wake after 10 mins and then it be another 1+ hour trying to settle again.
Just not sure wether to keep at the trying to settle her with it taking so long, or just let her wake and get her up thoygh she will be so cranky if still tired!

My baby is nearly 10 weeks and is exactly the same! She will only sleep for longer than 10 mins through the day if she is being held or on me, if I hold her she’ll easily sleep for 2 hours but if I dare put her down she’ll sleep for 10-15 mins and then wake up grumpy still asleep so we just contact nap through the day so she still gets her sleep. It’s not ideal but I will happily take it as she does now sleep pretty good at night! X
