Am I missing something? 9 month old sleep

Hi - apologies for the long post!!

I’m hoping someone can maybe give me a bit of insight. I’m a first time mum to my lovely 9 month old, when he was about 3/4 months old he used to probably go to sleep around 9pm, go in to his cot, then wake up at 4/5am & come in to my bed for a cuddle and go back to sleep for a bit.

Since that point it has just got progressively worse! It then started that at 1am he woke up and came in with me, now he will go to sleep around 7:30pm (I’m back working full time and we have to leave the house at 6:45am) and by 9:30pm - if I’m lucky - he’s crying. I’ll manage to rock him back to sleep but he’s very reluctant to go back in to his cot. I don’t actually mind the co sleeping it’s more that he then still wakes up multiple times in the night, sometimes for two hours at a time, which is really hard when I’m up so early and he is very restless, it doesn’t seem to be like he’s in a deep sleep a lot of the time?

We’ve also had issues with nappies leaking too which hasn’t helped. I’m really at a loss… I’ve tried sleep sack/ no sleep sack, white noise/ no white noise, not picking up, putting him in his cot drowsy but not asleep and nothing seems to be working.

His dad and I split a few months ago and although he sees him he does not have him over night so it’s very much fully on me as I haven’t really any support at night time. I’m really struggling as I’ve also got a very demanding job that I can’t cut back hours wise due to the fact I’m a single mum and need the full time wage to cover the bills.

Any advice would be really welcome!
