Almost 10m old multiple wakings

My DS will be 10 months old next week. He slept 6 hour stretches until he was 3 months, then it all changed and has never gone back. He still wakes up to 10 times a night, cries as soon as I leave the room even if I put him down while asleep, won’t settle to sleep himself, he only wants me to get to sleep and nobody else will do.
Theres been 2 evenings where I’ve put him to bed at 7 as normal, then my mum has come round to sit and listen for him while I’ve gone out, and he’s slept until 1am without waking, but when I’m home (downstairs and very quiet!!) he wakes every 45 minutes from the time he goes to bed. It seems I’m the problem, and I don’t know what to do anymore, I’m at my wits end with the lack of sleep. He wakes up screaming and will keep screaming until he makes himself sick if I try to leave him a little while.

Is he teething?

Lots of changes happen between 9-12 months, it does get better - sorry to hear you are struggling but nothing out of the ordinary here.

I have the same problem. My baby slept through some night between 2-3 months or just 1 night wake up and then around 4.5months she started waking up so frequently. Shes 8 months now and still wakes 8-12 times a night. She has reflux though and I think food allergies so that might be one of the causes for us. She will only accept being fed to sleep by me and will scream hysterically if my husband tries to comfort her. I've never tried leaving the house to see if I'm the problem because I'm scared of her getting too upset when I'm gone

I’m going through something similar with my 6 month old. I stay with my mum
one night a week for a rest and he used to be fine with her through the night but now he wakes and cries and the instant I go in and she hands him over he stops! He won’t his dad put him to sleep either. It’s exhausting when it’s all up to you and I basically go to bed when he does or he’ll wake!
Im now wondering if he’d settle with my mum if I wasn’t in the house after reading your post.

I'm going to put it out there that maybe your mum hasn't told you the whole truth. She might want to protect you and you enjoy your night rather than worry about how much he woke up.

I have access to the baby monitor on my phone, he was definitely asleep the whole time!
