Floor beds question

Hello, we are about to purchase a floor bed for our 1 year old, my wonder is, do we go side slats/bars, or no slats/bars? Ideally she'll use this for the next few years so it's a fairly long term purchase in theory. Would love to hear from those of you who use them and whether you would recommend with vs without , or any words of wisdom, or even links to beds you have bought! Thank you

I didn't know it was something you had to buy? We just put a mattress on the floor on top of a playmat. In the rare situation she fell off the mattress, it was onto a soft playmat. It was only for a very short phase (6 months? 18mo to 24mo ish) until dd could safely climb out of a bed easily.

Mattress on the floor here too

If it's just straight into the floor I think you run the risk of mould. The air won't be circulating round.

Hmm, thanks for quick replies! I was under the impression that air flow was needed underneath the mattress ...hence thinking about getting a proper 'base' - but perhaps i'm overthinking it?!

You lift the mattress onto its side each morning. Pop it flat again at night.

Some Asian countries do this for adults too
