Sleepovers for tall tots!

Hi!
new user so sorry if I do this all wrong!
So! We have a wedding coming up where my little one isn’t invited, we’ll have to ask parents to look after them and I have a feeling they will want to do so at their house.
This will be my little one’s first sleepover, which I don’t have a problem with other than sleeping arrangements!
my little one will be nearly two, but will be the size of a solid 3 year old. At home they are still in a cotbed and the size is fine, but already grown out of standard travel cots.

Does anyone have any ideas? (I did think of buying bumpers for a normal bed but if left solo I think they would be climbed over!)

Or, is his own bed the only real option?
I’ve tried to google and can’t find anything.

We have one of these at my parents’ for my 3yo. She’s in a normal bed at home now but it was really useful when she was in the cot bed at home, and still fits despite being tall! We occasionally pinch it to go visit friends if they don’t have a spare bed.

Sorry, just rereading your OP (no coffee yet!) - is it that DC still has the sides up on the cot bed? If so I’d probably suggest childproof room and a stair gate on the door!

Just lift mattress onto floor if it’s a single and you are worried about them falling out.

Yes still sides up at home. All a puzzle in the toddler stage. (Although I’m sure at any age!)

Single bed with a bed rail. Can buy them cheap from Amazon.
Or just mattress on floor.
