5am wakings!

My 6month old has always had low sleep needs but I’m wondering whether this is normal for her age…

She has two naps a day, one about an hour long and another one about thirty minutes long. She has 3 hours between naps (I cannot put her down sooner as she’s too awake) and completely skips her last nap so is awake between 12.30/1 and 6/6.30. Again - I cannot get her down for a nap at all.

We’ve tried napping her late afternoon and then trying the following times, nothing seems help.

7pm - wakes at 5am
7.30pm - wakes at 5am
8pm - wakes at 5am
8.45pm - wakes at 5.20

so… at the moment I’m putting her down at 6pm because she wakes at 5am anyway!

shall I just accept it or has anyone any advice? She has black out curtains, white noise and a comforter. Her room is a perfect temp.

Oh Meg, you are such a hero! I have been there with my son trying to stop him waking with a 4 at the start of the time!!

I had to reduce nap times and have an earlier bedtime. It felt counterintuitive, but worked!

I wonder if your LO really needs that third nap. Is there any way that you could get them off to sleep? Trip in the car? Pram nap? You’ve done such a good job at trying everything else!

Hey! Thanks for the advice, she has brown noise at nap times and a dark room. So I’m not sure what else to introduce! She’s just started crawling today suddenly so I’m hoping for better napping, she’s already an hour into her afternoon nap… stay tuned!!!
