How to get newborn to settle in bedside crib

Our 5 day old refuses to sleep in the snuzpod. We've had some success at daytime pram naps but not at nighttime. We will put her down and give minutes later she is screaming, any tips?

We swaddled and put the Moses basket in the snuzpod with one of my T-shirts over the mattress which seemed to work. I think the snuzpod is so big when they are so tiny!

At 5 days old the baby still thinks it's part of it's mum. Read up on the 4th trimester. Skin to skin, lots of cuddles, have to tried swaddling? Try laying them close to you in bed then moving them slowly into the snuzpod (keep sides down), then you sleep right next to them with some contact.

Ridiculous to expect this at five days old I’m afraid. Many, many babies dictate the snuzpod is a convenient bedside table and nothing more.

Totally normal I'm afarid. We gave up and co-slept until lo was about 2. Obviously following the safe sleep 7 guidelines.

We started off by letting baby fall asleep in our arms when newborn, timed 15 minutes then transferred. They are in a deeper sleep at this point so shouldn't wake up.

Are you using swaddles or sleep bags?
My little boy really liked the love to dream at first.
