Hi - really hoping someone might be able to give me some advice.
My 11 month old baby has slept through the night from a young age (sleep trained). He has always slept on his back and only started rolling very recently (he can only roll back to front and not front to back).
We are now having a nightmare with his sleep. Recently, he has taken to rolling over in his cot and crawling around (often moaning/ crying). I know this is quite normal but the problem is that he is unable to get back into a sleeping position because 1) he never learned to sleep on his front, and 2) he cannot roll front to back. He ends up roaming around the cot getting upset, and then falling asleep seated with his head flopped forwards. It looks so uncomfortable and he inevitably starts swaying, waking himself up and getting upset. This goes on for hours at a time during the night where, every time I go and lay him down again - no matter how sleepy he is - he flips over and the whole thing starts again.
From initial research, it seems perhaps I'm best leaving him to figure it out - either to fall asleep on his front or learn to roll back the other way. I don't want him to get reliant on me rubbing his tummy etc. We are at a complete loss and awake for hours during the night with him. He's shattered every day and it's really taking its toll.
