20 mo finally sleeping through!

Just wanted to encourage others with non-sleeping toddlers.

DS was waking twice for a bf - once at 10pm, once at some random point between 1 and 5. At christmas, when he was 17 months, I stopped bfing him at night. Instead DP went to him. He dropped the 10pm feed no problem at all but he seriously protested the later one. Lots and lots of crying in his Dad's arms.

But it gradually got later and later that he first woke (4, then 4.30, then 5) and now he usually wakes at 6.30, which is very liveable with.

Mind you, I still haven't had an uninterrupted night's sleep for 2 years because I'm pregnant again so keep waking up to pee, but that's not DS's fault! In fact he did his best to prevent me getting pregnant by making us so completely knackered...

Snap! My 20mth old just started too! I was still giving 1 and occasionally 2 bf a night, but he's just stopped it by himself, and if does wake doesn't ask for bf and resettles with a pat or two or turning his lullaby cd on. Hope it lasts, and good luck with next one L.

I did nothing really to stop him nursing at night, but it did coincide with me changing his bedroom around so cot was in a better postion, more like you'd have a bed, with its head against the wall, not the side. He seems a lot happier in his cot. DH say's I feng shui'd his room! Might have to write a infant sleep feng shui book!!
