Co-notsleeping

We cosleep out of desperation and necessity. DS is 8 months and still BFing (loads). He's always fed to sleep - it was the only way he would sleep at all when he was tiny and we've been so grateful for that we don't see it as a problem. Heh, didn't. Now he's had a spell of sore tummy/bad wind at night and so he's fed loads for comfort, and I've had a week off so he's fed loads more than usual and for all his numerous short pitiful naps. He's decided sleep ain't worth having unless my boob is in his mouth. Cue really crappy nights with multiple wakings for both of us.

We're not likely to stop cosleeping (too tired, god I'm so tired I haven't got words, just an urge to punch things and cry quite often) - any rapid tips?

PS I've already memorised NCSS!

This is not unusual for babies of his age after an upset - but if you're all in the same bed a solution is hard to imagine.

How about wearing nightclothes you can't feed in? Or moving into the spare room (if you've got one) and leaving ds to co-sleep with his dad!

This was my DD2 to a T. I stuck it out until 12 months when I had had enough. I went on nursing strike, she had a bedside cot but was rarely in it but we put the bars back on and when she woke DP attended to her, rocked her, put her down, etc first night she screamed for 50 long hard minutes then went off to sleep, next night it was 10, night after she slept through. I tried NCSS too didn't work, I had to go full cold turkey so she realised when she woke there was no milk on offer so it was better just to go back to sleep. You have my sympathies it is hell I know.
